Total tummy wellness on the outside

When it comes to achieving total tummy wellness, it's important that your muscles are getting the exercise they need to aid digestion.

That's why we've asked Benefiber fitness guru Cornel Chin to tell us about two of his favourite simple, pilates-based exercises - great for toning up your tummy and helping you feel as great on the outside as you do on the inside:

Toe dip
  • Lie on your back with your legs up and bent at 90 degrees with your thighs straight up and calves parallel to the floor. Rest your hands at your sides, palms down. Keep your abs contracted and press your lower back toward the floor.
  • Now inhale and lower your left leg for a count of 2, moving only from your hip and dipping your toes toward the floor (without letting them actually touch it). Exhale and raise your leg back to the starting position for a count of 2. Repeat until each leg has done this 12 times.
Back extension with rotation
  • Lie on your stomach with your forehead on your hands, palms on the floor. Separate your feet to hip width. Pull your abs in.
  • Now raise your head, shoulders and chest off the floor. Rotate your upper body to the right, then back to the centre, and lower. Repeat to the left side, and continue alternating until you've done 6 rotations to each side.

For best results, flatten your tummy by pulling your navel
towards your spine during each exercise - and try doing them
3 times a week.
